The Story

Long before your little one was born, someone they love found their way into Embervale for the very first time. Someone brave. Someone kind. Someone who just might be you.

Every letter is personalized with the name your little one calls you, whether that is Gigi, Papa, Aunt Barbie, or another name that belongs only to your family.

First Sparks tells the story of that first journey. Each month, your little adventurer follows along to a new realm, meets a new friend, and discovers a little more of Embervale. When they are ready, around age seven, their own Guardian adventure begins in Letters from Embervale.

Made for Brand-New Readers

The stories begin simply and grow along with the child. In the early months, they may want a grown-up close by. By the end of the year, they will be reading more and more on their own and feeling ten feet tall about it.

What Arrives

  • The Young Guardian’s Key on a special card that tells them it can unlock the way into Embervale.
  • A wall map of Embervale with all twelve realms waiting to come to life.
  • A colorful realm sticker each month to fill another part of the map.
  • Personalized story letters written for little readers.
  • A wooden treasure each month, engraved with that month’s Meldling on one side and its virtue on the other.
  • Coloring pages and simple creative pieces that support the story without turning it into homework.
  • A storage pouch to keep the wooden treasures together.

By the end of the year, the map is full of color and your little one knows the way around Embervale by heart.

You Never Lift a Finger

We write every letter, personalize it, pack every treasure, and mail it right on time. All you have to do is listen when they tell you what happened in the Misty Marsh.

Quick Questions

What if my child cannot read yet?

That is completely fine. Read together at first. The language is chosen so little readers can join in a word at a time, then do more and more on their own.

What comes after First Sparks?

Around age seven, children are ready for Letters from Embervale, where they become Guardians and build a Heartforge Amulet of their own. The map comes first. Then the amulet. It feels like graduating.

Can I give First Sparks and Letters from Embervale at the same time?

Yes. Little brothers and sisters can begin with First Sparks while older children begin the flagship journey. Add each child separately at checkout.
